This particular shoot was where I was setting out to try and make transcriptions of some of my artist research but also to try different things as well. First I wanted to try and work in the style of Kreetta Järvenpää by photographing flowers on a grey background, some examples of this are featured below before the contact sheet. This particular background wasn’t textured enough so the results could be stronger. The flower stems in my attempts were too short and the heads too small resulting in very pristine looking specimens. I want to return to this with a different backdrop and different specimen example. The contact sheets on this post have coloured boxes, green to indicate selected images for further experimentation and the red for rejected images.

The next contact sheet shows images I created experimenting with a projector. The inspiration came from the work of Saara Ekström where I observed the use of projections in the images, examples of which are shown below before the contact sheet. I want to experiment further in the style of Ekström but am still trying to draft ideas for locations and the contents within the frame. The contact sheet, again, featured colour boxes for selected and rejected images which have then been refined in the selected images post for this shoot.

In this final contact sheet of this shoot I have four images and no colour coding. I decided to edit and tweak all four and these can be found on the selected images post for shoot 10. Here I was trying to start working in the style of Anton Giulio Bragaglia as per guidance from my 1:1 tutorial in Week 5. Example images of Anton Giulio Bragaglias work can be seen below just before the contact sheet for this part of the shoot. For these experiments I tried slow exposures and moving the objects within the frame. This has limited success and for further experimentation I would like to try using object movement and strobe lighting.
