Module 4 – Week 4 – Activity – Hands off!

During this weeks activity we were required to make a set of five images using methods which were not familiar to us. Through Photography I have used many methods of image making over the years however one area I have never attempted or embraced has been ‘scanography’. I decided to use many of the subjects that have been featuring in my imagery and practice this module. These were then placed on the flatbed scanner and scanned. The result was a hyper shallow depth of field and very interesting colourations which was almost sketch-like. The examples and my submission for this experiment are in the gallery below.

This has been extremely successful and I am open to further use of flatbed scanners and ‘scanography’ to make images through this module.
