Following on from my webinar in Week 2 I had mentioned that my step son has a corn snake and it was said that I should incorporate this into my work. This shoot was on a white background with dead flower arrangements and a skull furthering the momento mori message.
I’d like to reshoot this but with a black background to try and create shadow and deeper atmosphere a kin to chiaroscuro techniques from module 3. I’m yet to work on creating and choreographing the images with more depth and hiding items within the shadows but that development will come in time.
A range of edited images are available on the ‘selected images’ page and are those highlighted in green on these contact sheets. Minor tweaks to exposure were made as well as cropping in tighter to reduce distraction to the viewer.
