Within your own project, are you explicitly referencing your inspiration and visual materials, or purposely leaving them out?
Inspiration and visual materials are referenced due to the nature of academic study. Citing sources is critical. I do find myself in the position however where I question at what point does one break away and form their own practice.
How do you think your images will be used, once you’ve gone, and how could you control or shape that?
I am aware that my images have been inspirational to other already. My hope is that what I do stands the test of time as photographic representations of what they show. This is increasingly difficult in a world so saturated in images.
The hope would be to leave a legacy, something to be remembered for which is positive. Maybe one could donate works to a local museum but at what point does that become presumptuous of ones own importance?
