How can repeat photography help you to think about your project in a different way?
The ephemeral nature of some of my subject matter (plants etc) means that the process of returning to and repeating images brings a different take on how that subject deteriorated over time. If one has the opportunity to not interrupt the composition then it becomes easier for repeat photography to be a functional part of my practice.
What can you learn about your subject by recording it over time?
As mentioned about, the often ephemeral nature of my subject matter leads to new lessons about how it decays and falls into wilt. The speed of that process can be effected by the environment and conditions I put upon my subject.
Do you have an agenda which may rightly or wrongly influence how your images are viewed?
I have something of an agenda. I have often detested ‘pretty pictures’ and so am favouring seeing my subject in its state of decay and decline. I feel that this is morally sound as my intentions are not to show it as something it is not.
