Shoot 1 – Redhead – Chosen Images

The first two images below are the ones that had been highlighted in yellow on the contact sheet. These are where I used the barn door of the redhead to control the spill of light on the surface of the stool under the backdrop. It’s subtle but makes a big difference. At this exposure time the light has become much cooler.

Below are the four ‘orange’ images from the contact sheet. These are captioned with the white balance setting used in each one. Tungsten lighting can be really great to work with, particularly in black and white. Moving forward, more continuous lighting will feature in my work.

This weeks intention was to experiment with chiaroscuro lighting from a single source using a single subject. These experiments were simple but great fun. These will develop as this investigation proceeds.
