Shoot 1 of Module 2 focuses around the streets of the urban areas surrounding Fawley refinery and power plant. These contact sheets show images bounded together as bracketed images ready for HDR processes. The bands in green are the chosen combinations to be taken forward for HDR merging and editing. Those chosen images can be seen here.
Part of the inspiration to work in this way came from the work of Fergus Heron in his project Charles Church Houses. Focusing on suburban Surrey, the images show the archetypal domiciles of middle class neighbourhoods of the 90’s. My images seek to show these areas of habitation alongside the clunking steaming hulk of Fawley Oil Refinery which seeps seamlessly into the background as people go about their daily business.
